May 6th, 2022 - The Algorand Foundation is delighted to announce sponsorship for the MIT Digital Currency Initiative to support the Cryptoeconomics Systems (CES) Journal under the leadership of Professor Andrew Miller from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and Neha Narula, Director of the MIT Digital Currency Initiative.
“The purpose of the CES journal is to collect and disseminate the best, most innovative research in the space,” explains Reuben Youngblom, CES’s Managing Editor. “Our journal is intentionally multidisciplinary. By bringing together technical fields such as cryptography or protocol engineering, and placing them side-by-side with fields like economics, law, philosophy, or art, amazing new insights arise - and with them, a more mature research commons that puts blockchain first.”
Algorand Foundation’s Principal Researcher and Head of the ACE programme Hugo Krawczyk underlines the importance of peer-reviewed publication as the field of blockchain grows and expands as an academic discipline: “Blockchain technology and its variety of application possibilities has opened new doors for academic research. The CES journal is instrumental in advancing interdisciplinary research and discourse in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. We are delighted to be able to support them on this journey.”
The journal is published by The MIT Press. Guidance for the CES journal comes from the CES Advisory Board, whose members are: Nathan Wilcox, Tim Roughgarden, Dahlia Malkhi, Pieter Wuille, Arvind Narayanan, Kevin Werbach, Sheila Warren, Maurice Herlihy, Dawn Song, Eswar Prasad, Justin Drake, and Aggelos Kiayias.
