February 24th, 2022 - The Algorand Foundation is excited to announce that the Community Relay Node Program will go live on 1st of March. This program is the next step on the path to bringing Relay Nodes to the same level of decentralization as the Algorand blockchain’s consensus participation nodes.
As a result of our call for submissions, on December 1st, 2021, we received 140 applications and we confirmed the top 9 as our new node running group. These relay nodes will be running across 6 continents and will provide 21 new relay nodes to support and enable the continued high performance and robustness of the Algorand blockchain.
The breakdown of node runners for this pilot program by region is;

- Australia: 2
