February 18th, 2022 - The Algorand Foundation is delighted to announce the partnership with BlockBeam to support the Gateway to Algorand programme.
“The goal of the programme is to develop standout business-side blockchain candidates and accelerate adoption of Algorand sustainability and climate resiliency applications,” explains Drew Cousin, co-founder of BlockBeam. “We are excited to have Algorand Foundation as a partner to support the next generation of blockchain natives on their career path.”
The free online cohort programme is currently aimed at undergraduate students and does not only include applied learning offerings, but also opportunities for networking and collaboration. Participation is by application only. Accepted students will learn about the Algorand protocol as a leader in sustainable blockchain technology.
“Students who graduate from our programme will earn NFT badges to document their learning and to unlock more benefits as the BlockBeam ecosystem grows,” continues Bennett Thompson, who co-founded BlockBeam together with Drew Cousin. Both founders are currently enrolled at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
“The Algorand Foundation University Programme is thrilled to be part of the Gateway to Algorand programme,” emphasizes Autumn Moss Peñaloza, Algorand Foundation’s Head of Communities for the Americas, “It is crucial to have hands-on educational opportunities for young professionals so they can learn more about the benefits and use cases of blockchain technology.”
